Each year, the South Dakota Department of Education is required to produce two reports related to student achievement on the Dakota STEP and Dakota STEP-A tests. There is a distinct difference between these two reports; it is outlined below. Both the Report Card and the Assessment Report contain information about public school districts only.

The Report Card presents information at the state, district and school level related to student achievement on the Dakota STEP (State Test of Educational Progress) test. Test scores that are included in this report are students who have completed a FULL ACADEMIC YEAR (Oct. 1 through the last day of the test window) in the school and/or district.

The Assessment Report presents information at the state, district and school level related to student achievement on the Dakota STEP (State Test of Educational Progress) test. Test scores that are included in this report are ALL students who took the assessment.

Individual student results for students in grades 3-8 and 11 can be obtained by contacting your child's attendance center.
